The World Cup

We heard that The Shed art space in North Dublin City were looking for musicians to make a live soundtrack to World Cup games a few weeks ago and volunteered. We've been jamming again recently so wanted to "road test" the new improved sound, and the idea of making noise over soccer seemed like worth giving a go. In the end we played over 2 games in the Shed, the first with Amanda Feery joining us on harmonium and clarinet, the second with Amanda, Niamh de Barra on cello and Gavin Prior on feedback / amplified objects.

Attendance was virtually non-existent but we got good recordings, and were probably more relaxed playing as we didn't have to take people's taste into consideration! Football is a fast-moving game and the internet stream of the match stalled several times, but in places you can hear where we were following what was going on in South Africa.

It is unlikely that we will play over any more soccer games but more audio-visual gigs are to be expected soonish...
